Something Fishy

SOMETHING FISHY (LAPOINTE'S) - 194 ROBERTSON ROAD - BELLS CORNERS - 596-9654

For the best Fish & Chips I would have to suggest Lapointe's in the Fines Flowers mall in Bells Corners. They have a good (small) fish menu. It is all fresh. The restaurant is located inside their store. Call for their specials for the day. You had better go early 4:00 to 5:00 to get a seat or you can wait and take in the sights and smells of a classy restaurant/fish store. I don't think they take reservations!! ENJOY.

Flipper's

FLIPPERS - 823 BANK ST. - 232-2703

If you love seafood, deliciously prepared and in satisfying quantities, this is definitely a good place to go. This restaurant is located on the second floor of Fifth Avenue Court. The seafood platter offers a scrumptious sampling of taste treats from the sea at a moderate price.

Big Daddy's

   BIG DADDY'S CRAB SHACK AND OYSTER BAR - 780 BASELINE - 228-7011
                                         - 339 ELGIN - 569-5200

There's probably no better place to find expertly done seafood and other dishes in the Louisiana and south western styles. From the tasty and clam-generous clam chowder, the gumbo, the oysters and mussels to the seafood jalapino and crawfish jambalaya, everything is prepared in a way that seems to bring out just about every taste in the ingredients. The menu includes some preparations of alligator for the culinary explorer.

Service is good and decor is reminicent of a New Orleans crab shack. I've been at the original restaurant on Baseline a least a half dozen times and the newer one on Elgin once and have never been disappointed with the food. There's a good range of spicy and non-spicy items on the menu.

I'm still a Big Daddy's fan after several years now and my earlier comment still applies in 1999. They continue to offer the same good taste and service experience.
