Noah's Starr Eastern Manor - Merrickville

STARR EASTERN MANOR - MERRICKVILLE The best brunch I've ever had was at the Starr Eastern Manor on the road to Jasper just outside of Merrickville. It's a sit down brunch. They bring a menu and you pick the main course you want. It's hard to choose. There are eggs Benedict, Belgian waffles, various quiches, and other delightful choices. Once you have ordered, the waiter will bring you a bowl of fresh fruit salad. He will serve it into individual bowls for you and then leave the big bowl so you can help yourself to more. Tea and coffee will be served throughout the meal. When you have had your fill of fruit salad, the bowl will be replaced with a basket of assorted fresh, warm muffins. As you sample these you begin to wonder where you will put the main course. Take your time. This isn't just breakfast. This is an event. More muffins can be had, if you feel you have room. After that appears a plate of cold meats and cheeses. Do you really dare to sample this? The main course is on it's way. Some of the main courses come with a choice of fried potatoes or Caesar salad. All the selections I have tried so far have been outstanding. We used to take special guests out to dinner, but anyone can do that. Now we take them to brunch at the Starr Eastern.
