An interesting spot in Ottawa that is not well known is Ole Tapas on Somerset St. near Bank in the old Somerset Hotel. This is not strictly a restaurant in the traditional sense, more of a Spanish snack bar where you can order drinks and a small order of calamares or other spanish "tapas". Ole tapas has live flamenco music every Fri. and Sat. night played by two flamenco guitarists. I quite enjoy the spot and plan to be a regular. The calamari was particularly nice - so refreshing to find it WITHOUT breading. Each item is $3.99 and comes on a saucer-size plate, so a couple would want about 5 or so for a full meal. Recommended.
